Triglav national park
One of the earliest of Europe, the Triglav National Park covers most of the Julian Alps in Slovenia. The highest mountain Triglav (2864m.) has many surrounding crests rising above 2000m. From all sides numerous valleys cut deeply and steeply into the heart of the mountains. A spectacular karst scenery with glaciated lakes and abundant waterfalls, rivers and streams flowing through narrow gorges. Most of the park is forest. Home to chamois, eagle, bear and lynx. An exceptional natural treasure worthy your visit.
